Shannon & Milan’s 5 Year Anniversary
Shannon and Milan are two of my favorite people. We geek out on photography gear together, we shoot together, we gush about food together, and they are most definitely one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever known.
Their love for each other is apparent the instant you see them together and their joy is contagious.
So when Shannon asked me to take their 5 year wedding anniversary portraits I didn’t hesitate for a second!
Shannon, Milan, Andrew (my trusty partner in crime), Sammie & Olive (the pups), and I piled into my little red Subaru and took off towards the hills. After a few miles of dirt road and smelly dog breath we finally made it to our destination, a shot-gun shell strewn mountain side with a view of the valley below.
It was a perfect evening, with good friends, Polaroid cameras, and crazy little dogs that could teach the Energizer Bunny a thing or two.
Thank you, Shannon and Milan, for choosing me to be your anniversary photographer. 🙂
Sammie and Olive ran circles around us all day. I was only able to capture the two of them sitting after a lot of coaxing near the end of our session.
It was nearly impossible to get Shannon to stop laughing… But that’s just who she is. Constantly smiling with a contagious joy that infuses everything she does.
The ground was covered in shotgun shells in blue, red and orange which added an interesting pop of color to the dirt and rocks beneath our feet.
Dirt and white dresses don’t often come together happily but when a car drives by at just the right moment, kicking up golden dust for the late afternoon sunbeams to shine through, it makes for a perfect pairing.
