A road trip through the Pacific Northwest has become a popular honeymoon destination and it’s not hard to see why.
We have a little something for everybody up here – a beautiful coastline, trendy cities, amazing food, hot springs, and more hiking and camping destinations than I know what to do with.
For Jade and Mike’s belated honeymoon they decided to take advantage of the metropolis to their north. Stopping first in Seattle, Mike and Jade made their way down to Portland before heading home to California. While they were here I had the pleasure of photographing them as they discovered the nooks and crannies (and lots of amazing food) that Portland has to offer.
Our first stop was in one of my favorite neighborhoods in the South East called Kerns. Mike and Jade rummaged through treasures at SMUT, a vintage store on the corner of SE 28th and Burnside. Afterwords they sampled some beer at one of Portland’s many microbreweries before heading to the Alberta Arts District in the North East.
On Alberta we made an obligatory stop at Salt & Straw for some of the best ice cream Portland has to offer then went in search of beautiful light and textures. We met stray cats, fell in love with a vintage camp trailer, and soaked in some late afternoon sunshine.
As I followed Mike and Jade around the city it was plain to see that marriage agrees with them. A year after their nuptials these two only have eyes for each other, sneaking in kisses and holding hands whenever the mood strikes, which was often!
