Katie & Sean // A Snowy Mountain Love Story

Seven weeks before their session with me Katie & Sean gave birth to a sweet baby boy. For many this would keep them home, nesting in on cozy winter days with the newest member of their family, but not these two. Katie and Sean are adventurers through and through. They take every opportunity to go exploring, hiking, camping, you name it. So just seven weeks after bringing their little one into the world they took some precious time for themselves, off on another adventure in the woods.

Katie and Sean drove up to my home in Mohawk, California on a cold evening just three days after Christmas. We had never met before but instantly bonded over a simple vegetarian meal and some tasty local brews.

The next morning we prepped for our shoot and headed out into the snowy landscape of Plumas County. As we made our way towards Truckee, California we found beautiful mountaintop views, giant icicles, and a perfectly untouched snow covered meadow complete with hidden creeks covered with daringly thin ice.

It was a day full of laughter and intimate moments, a mini road trip and mountain views –  a perfect day in my book.
