The cards were stacked against Shaylyn and Zane when they first met in college. Shortly after discovering each other, Shane flew away to Costa Rica to study abroad. For many people that would be the end of things but not for these two. They kept in touch while he was abroad and connected again as soon as he returned. They’ve been together ever since and last November they bonded their lives together for good.
Shaylyn and Zane got married on a cool November day in Chico, California. They rented out the historic Honey Run Covered Bridge, decked it out with macrame, dozens of gorgeous plants, twinkly lights, flowers, and beautiful handcrafted details in cement and copper. Their intimate ceremony was held on the bridge in front of a backdrop of hanging willow branches and wooded hills. They chose not to do a first look but instead allowed for one and a half hours of portrait time after their ceremony. This time allowed them to relax after being in the spotlight (because they’re both adorably shy) and spend some precious moments together before getting back to the party. For dinner one of Chico’s famous taco trucks rolled up and put out an monster taco buffet to supply fuel for the epic dance party that was to follow.
These two beautiful people put everything they had into their wedding, making this intimate party extra special for all their closest friends and family. The music blasted late into the night and I could still hear laughter coming from the dance floor as we said our goodbyes.
