Your Las Vegas Elopement Photographer

I love a good Las Vegas elopement. I’m endlessly inspired by the desert landscape, the wide open spaces, the retro neon, the Elvis impersonators, and the big blue skies. You really can’t go wrong if you choose this classic elopement destination.

When I visited Las Vegas in 2013 to assistant produce Film Season 2 I fell a little bit in love with the city. I took my focus off of the flashy modern strip and went off the path to discover grand cityscapes, rad vintage shops, and more than a little grungy graffiti art. This is where my love for this city began.

Eleanor & Youssef’s Elopement Story

When Eleanor told me that Youssef and herself were planning to elope to Las Vegas and wanted to take me with them I couldn’t have been more excited. I proudly proclaim that I am a Las Vegas elopement photographer, and I can’t wait to go back!

Eleanor wore a shimmering gold gown styled with a traditional floor length veil and gold heels. Youssef was decked out in a three piece navy wool suit… in 110 degree hotter-than-hell August weather. Yes, he had to change his shirt twice within two hours but he looked amazing. Would I recommend following in his shoes – no way. Wear linen or cotton and lighter colors if you plan to elope in the Las Vegas summer heat.

They said their vows at the Bellagio and were officially blessed by Elvis himself while wandering the old Vegas strip. Was Elvis drunk? A definite yes! He gave them some slurred advice and stumbled on his way, spiked Coke in hand.

Planning Your Las Vegas Elopement

If you’re planning your own Las Vegas elopement here are a few tips to get the most from your photography:

Find a photographer familiar with the area.

They will be able to help you choose the best spot for your elopement and portraits, drive you to your destinations, and give you personalized recommendations.

Check with your venue about photography restrictions.

Some of the larger hotels and casinos don’t allow outside photographers to work on their property (as was the case with Eleanor & Youssef). If you want to get married at one of these locations know that you’ll likely have to work with a house photographer for your ceremony or pay extra to hire a photographer you love.

Leave the city.

Some of the most beautiful landscapes are just outside of Las Vegas. Consider having your elopement in the desert and popping back to the city for dinner and drinks.

Make it an all day event.

And elopement isn’t just a ceremony and portraits. Hire your photographer for the full day so you come away with a complete story. You’ll want to hold memories of your morning getting ready, your ceremony, some dreamy newlywed portraits, and your evening out on the town.

You’ll need a witness.

Don’t forget you do need one witness to make your marriage official in Las Vegas. If you don’t want to bring any guests, simply ask your photographer to be your witness. We got you!
