Who am I?
My name is Briana, though I'll most likely ask you to call me Bria when we meet.
I am a California girl born and raised with a developing passion for travel and adventure.
I drink copious amounts of tea and am doing my best to embrace vegetarianism though I can't seem to give up semi-regular sushi feasts or corned beef and cabbage on Saint Patrick's Day.
Call me a cat lady if you like, but I've always felt a deep kinship with the feline world- wild or domestic, I love them all.
Though I grew up rather poor I've always had what my fiance likes to call "bubbly" taste. I gravitate towards the handcrafted, the antique, and the immaculately prepared delicacies in life.
The Beginning:
I ran off to college when I was 17 to earn my degree in English: I've always loved reading and writing. Two years later, after a particularly rough phase in my life, I abandoned English in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts degree in art, but more specifically- Photography.
Why Photography?
I never was much of a drawer, sadly falling flat on my face any time I attempted to sketch a scene from my imagination. That's when I reached for a camera and discovered that despite the great limitation of having to point my lens at the physical world, I could bring to life images that only ever existed in my mind. Since then photography has become my life blood, my meditation. A process that leaves me content, giddy, and awed all at once, every time.
What About the Blog?
As someone who spends a lot of time behind a camera and in front of a computer I think of blogging as a way to reach out to a world of possibilities. This space allows me to share little bits of myself; my musings on life, love, and photography. I see it as a way to create a community that I can take with me no matter where I end up in the world. I blog to share. To connect. To inspire.
