A SE Portland Engagement Session
Cynthia and CJ chose to do their engagement session in one of their favorite SE Portland neighborhoods.
First we stopped at a super cute little cider bar called The Place, and it was easy to see why it’s a favorite. The cider selection is excellent. The decor has that perfect old Portland vintage vibe with plenty of house plants to satisfy the contemporary hipster. They even have crystals in the windows which throw rainbows all over the room on a sunny afternoon.
Then we popped over to SE Clinton for a bit of ice cream at Fifty Licks and a stroll through this adorable neighborhood full of gardens, old cars, and cats in windows.
Cynthia & CJ’s Story
CJ and I met at a mutual friend’s birthday party about 3 months after I had moved up to Portland. He doesn’t seem to mind my lack of mushiness. I think he makes up for the both of us in that department. Since the day we met nearly 5 years ago, we have literally been texting non-stop; from sweet nothings, to pictures of food, to our most recent endeavor: pictures of our puppy, Frankie.
On August 1st, 2018 we found out I’m the hardest person to propose to! I may or may not have thwarted his elaborate plans resulting in an awkward, but effective proposal. We both agree there was a missed opportunity earlier in the day when we visited a STUNNING winery overlooking the ocean — whoops, his bad!
We are looking forward to sharing our favorite things with our family and friends at the wedding. Every element of our wedding features unique aspects about us as individuals and as a couple. We are getting married at Abbey Road Farms — a nod to CJ’s country upbringing. We want our guests to feel like they’re on a date with us! One of our favorite Mexican food restaurants will be catering and we will MOST DEFINITELY be serving ice cream.
The Wedding Plan
While Cynthia and CJ had originally planned to get married in 2020 they were thwarted by COVID, like so many others. Their wedding has now been postponed to 2022. Despite the setback they are determined to throw the best bash ever for all their friends and family. Since the party has to wait, Cynthia & CJ will be eloping this year on the family farm and I am so excited to document both wedding dates for them!
