Horning’s Hideout Wedding | Portland, Oregon | Mary + Peter

Peter and Mary are one of those couples that is absolutely full of love and laughter.

We met in a sweet little coffee shop and bakery in South West Portland to chat about their wedding day and I knew instantly these were my kind of people.

When I arrived at their home to photograph Mary and her bridesmaids everyone was wearing the cutest floral robes, telling stories, drinking champagne, helping each other with makeup & gathering all that was necessary for Peter and Mary’s big day.

Peter and Mary chose Horning’s Hideout as their venue; a beautiful outdoor location down a private dirt road with a creek, rolling green hills, a gorgeous lily pond, and a perfect little camping nook. Their wedding was very low stress and high on good vibes. Laughter was abundant, drinks flowed freely, and lawn games were enjoyed by all ages.

Their good friends surprised Peter and Mary with an enviably rad vintage green wedding tent filled with rose petals, Pendleton blankets, and an adorable hand-drawn sign for the Mr. & Mrs. It. Was. Magical.

The end of the night continued with live music from their friends, The Dip, and an absolutely packed dance floor.

general inquiries

The first time I visited the Pantheon in Rome it was on accident. I stumbled across a colossal building while wandering the alleys and piazzas and figured I should check it out.

There was no line, no tickets, no crowd. The entire experience felt a little surreal.

Ten years later I visit again and now you need tickets to get inside. The sea of people out front is dense with tour guides and panhandling. A little of that magic stolen away.

So the trick is, for the exterior anyway, to visit at dawn. Catch this beauty before the crowds wake up, while the sun stretches over the rooftops to light up the solid marble pillars in golden light.

If you’re planning an elopement, wedding, or honeymoon in Rome, Italy I’d be honored to be your guide and photographer. I can bring you to all the best views and historic locations and know of an excellent private tour guide who can share the history of these beautiful places.

Looking through my archives and updating some older articles this week. I’ve been photographing weddings for 16 years. 16 YEARS!

This little introvert has grown so much as an artist, business woman, and human in that time.

I love my work so much more deeply than I ever thought possible.

Anywho, I hope you’re having a great Thursday. Hit me up if you need a wedding photographer! ☺️
