Carlene and Jon- Eric’s wedding was perfectly Portland. They both got ready in the beautifully eccentric Portland Mayor’s Mansion bordering Laurelhurst Park. They dove in and out of doors playing a game of avoidance until their first look on the front porch moments before their ceremony.
They walked just 5 minutes down the street to the steps of Laurelhurst Park for their ceremony. Carlene and Jon- Eric’s guests were seated in just a few rows of chairs at the bottom of the stairs for an up-close view of all the laughter and tears that filled the intimate ceremony.
After wandering around the park for a few portraits of the newlyweds we made our way over to Division Street for the wedding reception at Roman Candle Baking Co. We were greeted with a hand-drawn chalkboard sign welcoming the newlyweds, delicious basil and blackberry cocktails, and more than a few tasty appetizers. Carlene and Jon- Eric wanted their focus to be on great conversation and good food and they completely nailed it. The food, catered by Ava Gene’s, was to die for (seriously) and everywhere I looked I saw smiling faces, deep conversations, and a few Polaroid snapshot shenanigans to keep things silly.
These two couldn’t have created a more perfect wedding if they tried. See for yourself!
