Your wedding day should be all about you, not in a narcissistic way but in a “this is MY wedding day” sort of way. This is the day you are joining your life to another person, promising to love them to the end of your days, and celebrating the love that got you here in the first place.
In the summer of 2015 I had the pleasure of photographing Anna & Ben’s nuptials along side my dear friend Kelly of June Lion. I was inspired by the way Anna and Ben put aside tradition for a more personal approach. They walked each other down the aisle while a good friend sang and played the guitar, brought in their own dahlia flowers to decorate the wedding tent, watered a unity tree after saying their I- dos, and had a killer dance party in a building resembling a barn crossed with a carport.
Their entire focus was on each other, the people celebrating with them, and having one hell of a good time. Refreshingly simple, just as it should be. Anna and Ben’s wedding is proof that you can have a killer wedding on a tight budget as long as you choose the right people to celebrate with you. Of course, it never hurts to find a fantastically rad location that needs no additional decoration to be completely fabulous. 😉
