Presidio Park Wedding | San Diego, CA | Calla & Danielle

Presidio Park Wedding with a same sex couple in San Diego, CA by Briana Morrison Photography

Calla and Danielle’s Presidio Park wedding in San Diego, California was beyond dreamy. These two ladies are so stinkin’ cute together, so supportive of each other, and so well loved by their family and friends. The joy was contageous.

For their ceremony and reception Calla and Danielle chose to celebrate at the Handlery Hotel in San Diego. The space acted as a clean slate for the brides to make their own. The lush greenery and pool views added tropical flair to the couple’s Southern California wedding and the portraits taken at San Diego’s Presidio Park tied everything together in one gorgeous package.

That’s What She Said

“…Briana also took our wedding photos and all I can say is wow!!! I can’t think of enough great things to say about Briana! Her photos absolutely blew us away. She captured so many beautiful moments and is especially skilled at capturing those little candid moments that you’ll want to remember forever. She was such a joy to work with, we got so many comments from family and people in our wedding party about how sweet and professional she was. She knows just how to make things fun and comfortable in what can be a stressful situation. She was very helpful in planning which photos we were going to take and when. We decided to go offsite to take some photos on her recommendation and I am so glad we did. I was nervous about getting my dress and shoes dirty at the park we took photos at and there was one moment where I stepped in a bunch of dirt and it got all over my shoe and I started panicking. Briana knew just how to handle it, she really goes the extra mile to make the photos and the day the absolute best it can be! Her dedication to capturing love is absolutely amazing and beautiful. The photos will bring us so much joy for a lifetime to come and I can’t imagine the photos or our experience with her being any better. She has a special talent for capturing love and we love Briana!”

In the fall of 2017 I had a pleasure of photographing Calla & Danielle’s engagement. They opted for a super intimate at home session in their North Park apartment – so romantic! You can view their North Park engagement here.

The world feels heavy right now. More than ever, we need healing, softness, and moments of peace. We need to hold close the small joys, celebrate the ones we love, and find solace in the beauty around us.

Lately, I’ve been grounding myself in the simple things—listening to birdsong in the morning, slowing down to be present with my fur babies (especially as we welcome a new puppy), and finding deeper meaning in my work. Because photography, at its heart, is about preserving love, stillness, and joyful abandon—even when the world makes it hard to feel those things.

Where are you finding peace these days? I’d love to hear. ❤️
