North Park San Diego Engagement Portraits
This North Park San Diego engagement session was a dream come true and then some. When I first met Calla and Danielle, I instantly knew we were going to have a blast together. These two are not only incredibly sweet, but they also happen to share their home with two of the most adorable cats I’ve ever seen.
Our connection began on Facebook, thanks to a mutual friend from my days as a student at Chico State. (It’s fun how social media can bring people together, isn’t it? One of the few perks.) Before diving into Calla & Danielle’s engagement session, we decided to grab some snacks and get to know each other a bit better. It’s a trick I’ve learned over the years—sharing a meal or a snack helps break the ice and sets a relaxed tone for the session.
TIP – Take the time to connect with your photographer before your photo session or wedding. Trust me, it makes a world of difference. When you feel comfortable around the person behind the camera, it shows in the photos. Plus, who doesn’t love bonding over good food?
Once we were all fueled up and ready to go, we made our way to Calla and Danielle’s rooftop garden, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of magical. The light was just perfect, casting a soft, golden glow over everything. As we moved from one corner to the next, capturing candid moments and genuine laughter, it felt like time stood still.
I can’t even begin to describe the joy I felt as I watched Calla and Danielle interact. Their love for each other was palpable, and it was an honor to be able to capture those precious moments on camera. From playful nose kisses to sweet snuggles, every shot was pure magic.
