This North Park San Diego engagement session was everything I hoped for and more. Calla and Danielle are two of the sweetest humans living with two of the cutest cats. We met on Facebook through one of my artist friends from Chico State. I arrived early for their session and we got to know each other over snacks before bringing out the cameras and starting their shoot.
TIP – Taking the time to get to get to know your photographer prior to a photo shoot is one of the BEST ways to ensure you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. This will result in beautifully natural images full of real emotion. I’m a big fan of sharing a meal with my clients a couple days or hours before we set out to take photos. Everyone loves a good meal and it’s a great way to break the ice!
After chatting about life, love, and cats we wandered up to Calla and Danielle’s amazing rooftop garden to start their session. We had the place to ourselves, the light was perfection, and I was in my happy place and I guided them from one corner to the other. The giggles, smiles, nose kisses, and snuggles came so naturally to them – it was like I wasn’t even there. All in all, we had a blast! I would do this session over again in a heartbeat, not because I missed anything, but because I simply never wanted it to end.
I am blown away by the moments I was able to capture between these two lovers. Calla and Danielle are such an amazing pair and their love and enthusiasm for each other is incredible to witness.
